Position: Business Analyst (Mid-level)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

Fulltime (Permanent)

LOCATION:

Cape Town

WORKING MODEL:

Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Business Analyst will support and enhance finance systems and business processes by applying industry best practices. The role focuses on improving efficiency and effectiveness through business process analysis, system enhancements, and technology support for finance users.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  • Support existing business processes, systems, and technology within the Finance team
  • Consult with stakeholders to identify business problems and opportunities
  • Design and enhance business systems and processes
  • Develop business cases and propose solutions
  • Manage specifications, testing, and implementation of system enhancements
  • Perform business systems analysis and documentation
  • Write specifications for reports and data analysis
  • Conduct business process design and modelling
  • Create functional specifications (BRS, Use Cases, User Stories)
  • Develop user training manuals and standard operating procedures
  • Provide user support and system problem analysis
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and workshops
  • Manage projects, budgets, and system improvement initiatives
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and digital trends
  • Ensure project objectives align with business strategy
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as required

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of business processes and systems

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Tertiary qualification in Finance, highly advantageous

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst
  • Experience working in large, complex projects using the SDLC
  • Experience in retail or financial environments (preferred)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum)

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

  • CA (SA) qualification
  • Commercial or business-related degree
  • Proficiency in MS Office and GSuite (especially Excel / Google Sheets)
  • Programming experience (SQL, MySQL)
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Experience in digital transformation projects
