Senior Application Specialist
The Senior Application Specialist is responsible for providing ongoing maintenance and support for the organization’s software applications, ensuring optimal performance and continuous improvement of business processes. The role includes installing updates, troubleshooting peripheral solutions, and developing scripts to enhance application functionality.
The Specialist will work closely with the IT team and end‑users, understanding user requirements, designing and documenting solutions, and implementing them as needed to meet user needs. Collaboration with international development, IT operation, and support teams is essential; experience with Agile and Dev Ops methodologies is preferable.
Responsibilities- Maintain and support the applications landscape, including reporting solutions
- Ensure adherence to change management and release management procedures
- Collaborate closely with other team members and end users
- Contribute to releases in collaboration with development teams
- Support the development of customer‑centric systems and processes in collaboration with other business teams to deliver best‑in‑class customer experiences
- Provide application support across front‑end, middleware, and back‑end systems
- Apply close attention to detail and diagnostic skills to resolve issues logically
- Actively participate in the testing phase for new application development and enhancement
- Minimum 5 years of IT application support experience within the financial sector
- Concrete experience with change and release management
- Solid understanding of IT (applications landscape components, business applications) and experience supporting and engineering IT services
- Knowledge of Core Banking solutions (e.g., Olympic Banking System) is an advantage
- Experience with tools such as SWIFT, FIX, etc.
- Experience with enterprise reporting tools (e.g., SSRS, financial reporting applications such as Abacus)
- Experience with ticketing tools (e.g., Service Now) is an advantage
- Ability to understand/create scripting (Linux/Solaris, Power Shell)
- Experience with SQL/PLSQL
- Experience with FTP/SFTP solutions such as Globalscape is advantageous
- Process design and implementation experience
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
- Fluent in English;
German and/or French is advantageous
