Team lead: IT; Python, Database Systems R600k per annum

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Team Lead: IT to oversee the day-to-day management of IT infrastructure, systems, networks, and support services. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to the IT team while remaining hands‑on in the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's technology environment.

This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, team leadership, problem‑solving, and operational management to ensure the stability, security, and performance of IT services.

• Lead and mentor the IT team, ensuring effective service delivery and technical support.
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including Linux servers, virtualization platforms, networks, and security systems.
• Administer and support networking, firewalls, routing, VoIP, and file‑sharing services.

• Monitor system performance, availability, backups, patching, and disaster recovery processes.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Bash, Power Shell, and Python.
• Manage IT incidents, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure timely resolution of service requests.
• Support infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions aligned with business needs.

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in Linux, Networking, Virtualization, or Cloud technologies will be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in IT Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or IT Operations.
• Previous experience leading or supervising an IT support or infrastructure team.
• Experience managing enterprise IT environments and supporting business‑critical systems.
