Cross-Border Operations Analyst

, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Operations Data Analyst to join our team in Cape Town.

Reporting to the Marketplace Operations Manager.

• Solve ambiguous problems with less well-defined inputs and outputs; drive to the heart of the problem and identify root causes.
• Identify, develop and execute data analysis to uncover areas of business opportunities.
• Learn and understand the broad range of Takealot data resources and develop knowledge of how, when and which data sources to use.
• Deep dive into massive data sets to answer key business questions using SQL, MS Excel and data analytics tools.
• Maintain existing and build new automation workflows, and reports/dashboards to enable emerging business use case and to automate the implementation of defined SOPs.
• Validate the data to ensure accuracy in the output, generate descriptive statistics and extract insights.
• Prototyping of data analytics tools to support marketplace operations teams.
• Develop forecasting models and simulations to quantify the potential impact of proposed operational process changes, supporting evidence‑based decision‑making.

• Bachelor's Degree in any quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering or Operations Research or Similar degree.
• 2-4 years of experience working in Analytics.
• Experience in working with databases and SQL in a business environment.
• Prior experience in design and execution of analytical projects.
