Senior Actuarial Specialist

A vacancy exists for a Senior Actuarial Specialist within Old Mutual Corporate.

• Pricing Infrastructure and Solution Development – Stabilise, optimise and maintain existing pricing infrastructure and related systems. Develop and maintain the Online Risk quotation platform, standardise and enhance experience‑rated pricing tools, design, build and maintain integrations with third‑party systems (e.g. Ghost Draft), support migration of Excel‑based models to scalable platforms such as Python and C#, analyse and resolve issues within existing pricing systems, identify short‑term improvements, build new pricing solutions and collaborate with data and operational teams to meet evolving requirements.
• Automation and Operational Efficiency – Identify process inefficiencies and develop automation solutions to improve pricing operations. Build and maintain infrastructure supporting bulk review and automated pricing processes, enhance model scalability for increased automation and straight‑through processing, support the adoption of AI and emerging technologies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual intervention.
• Governance, Controls and Quality Assurance – Maintain and enhance pricing governance frameworks, standards and documentation. Establish a central governance framework across the Corporate Segment pricing environment, develop and monitor performance metrics, perform testing, validation and QA for new developments, proactively identify and resolve system issues, risks and control weaknesses, design deployment and release management processes, and develop automated governance, reporting and audit‑support capabilities.

Actuarial student making good progress in examinations; 5+ years of relevant experience in actuarial, pricing, technology or operations roles is advantageous. Experience in actuarial modelling, pricing operations, process automation, governance, solution development, and Group Risk pricing will be beneficial.
