Contract Data Scientist | 3-6 Months | Immediate Start | Up to ZAR 5,500 per day | Hybrid

We're partnering with a fast-growing online sports entertainment business looking for an experienced Data Scientist to help build an in-house customer segmentation capability. This is a high-impact project focused on replacing a third-party solution with scalable machine learning models that drive customer segmentation, personalised promotions and campaign targeting.

This is an initial 3-6 month contract with an immediate start, offering the opportunity to shape a business-critical capability with strong potential for extension.

• Develop, deploy and optimise machine learning models for customer segmentation and personalisation.
• Build and product ionise models on an existing AWS data platform, applying MLOps best practices.
• Analyse large datasets to uncover customer insights and improve engagement.
• Collaborate with the Head of Data, Head of CRM and engineering teams to deliver a scalable in-house solution.
• Present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders and document model development.

• Proven commercial experience delivering machine learning models into production.
• Strong Python, SQL and AWS skills.
• Experience with customer segmentation or predictive modelling.
• Hands-on experience with MLOps and machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn or Tensor Flow.
• Comfortable working in Agile, cross-functional teams with end-to-end ownership of solutions.
