IT Platform Engineer (3rd Line) job vacancy in Cape Town.

Our client, a UK IT MSP with offices in Cape Town, is looking Azure Platform Engineer to join their managed services team in Cape Town.

This is a senior, client-facing role delivering 3rd line support and project work across multiple accounts.

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing 3rd line incident management, diagnosis, investigation and resolution, across cloud environments
• Delivering technical project implementation work for clients remotely
• Working closely with service desk, technical teams and vendors to resolve issues within SLA
• Communicating clearly with both internal teams and customers on progress and solutions
• Contributing ideas for service improvement and mentoring less experienced team members
• Compiling technical documentation and user guides

What you’ll need:

• 5–10 years’ experience with Windows Server and Active Directory in an enterprise environment
• Strong Power Shell scripting ability
• Solid hands‑on experience across core Azure services: VMs, Key Vaults, Bastion, Azure Policy, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, NSGs, Azure AD, MFA, Conditional Access, Load Balancers, Application Gateways, Backups and Azure Arc
• Relevant Azure certifications (Administration, Solutions Architect, Virtual Desktop) advantageous
• ITIL Foundation exposure useful
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to manage stakeholders under pressure
• A calm, methodical approach to troubleshooting in a fast‑paced, high‑priority environment
