Senior DevOps Engineer

Senior Dev Ops Engineer (AWS) job vacancy in Cape Town.

PBT Group is looking for an experienced Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join a collaborative technology team delivering enterprise-grade cloud solutions and modern software delivery practices.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Cape Town, with a hybrid working model requiring 3 days per week in-office.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across AWS, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and automation, with a proven ability to design, implement and optimise secure, scalable cloud environments.

Key Requirements:

• Strong senior-level Dev Ops / Cloud Engineering experience
• Extensive hands-on AWS experience
• Strong CI/CD experience using Azure Dev Ops and/or Git Hub Actions
• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• Docker & Kubernetes
• Strong Linux and scripting experience – Bash, Python or Power Shell
• AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS, IAM and Cloud Watch
• Experience with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting and production support
• Strong understanding of Dev Sec Ops , automation and cloud security
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Ability to work closely with Developers, Architects and Infrastructure teams
• Advantageous:
  • AWS certification, Helm, Ansible, Prometheus/Grafana, Sonar Qube and experience within microservices environments.
