Job Description

As an IT Support Technician III, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, infrastructure administration, and operational assistance across end-user devices, network services, and business-critical IT systems. The successful candidate will support Active Directory environments, network infrastructure, endpoint security solutions, backups, and a variety of hardware and software platforms. You will work closely with users and stakeholders to troubleshoot incidents, resolve technical issues, and ensure high levels of system availability and performance.

The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to travel between locations when necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technical professional looking to further develop their expertise in a dynamic IT environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide second-line and third-line technical support for users, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Administer and support Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues.
  • Manage and support LAN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and related network services.
  • Monitor, manage, and resolve incidents through Jira or similar ticketing systems.
  • Support endpoint protection platforms and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and network equipment.
  • Administer NAS storage solutions, backup systems, and data recovery processes.
  • Support and maintain CCTV and NVR surveillance environments.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system health checks.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, technical procedures, and infrastructure changes.
  • Assist with IT projects, system upgrades, deployments, and technology improvements.
  • Provide remote and on-site support across business locations when required.
  • Participate in after-hours support and emergency response activities as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 4–6 years of experience in IT support, infrastructure support, or systems administration roles.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration and user management.
  • Solid understanding of LAN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience working with Jira or similar IT service management and ticketing platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with endpoint protection and security solutions.
  • Knowledge of routers, firewalls, switches, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting NAS platforms, backup solutions, and data protection systems.
  • Familiarity with CCTV and NVR systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple support priorities.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Must be based in Cape Town and willing to travel when required.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Microsoft certifications such as MCSA, MD-102, or equivalent.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and cloud services.
  • Knowledge of Power Shell scripting and automation.
