PBT Group is looking for an experienced Dev Ops Engineer to join our team in Cape Town on a hybrid basis.
This role forms part of a technology team responsible for the development, management and support of key applications. The successful candidate will have strong AWS experience, together with solid expertise in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containerisation and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions and/or Azure Dev Ops.
- Provision, manage and scale AWS cloud resources, using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation.
- Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting solutions, including AWS services such as Cloud Watch.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
- Automate application deployment and operational processes to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Apply Dev Sec Ops principles throughout the development and deployment lifecycle, including access controls and vulnerability management.
- Work closely with Software Development, Infrastructure and Operations teams to ensure smooth and reliable software delivery.
- Contribute to technical solution design and application architecture where required.
- Support continuous improvement of development, deployment and operational processes.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Dev Ops Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong hands-on AWS experience is essential.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Git Hub Actions and/or Azure Dev Ops.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform and/or AWS Cloud Formation.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, logging and alerting, preferably AWS Cloud Watch.
- Good understanding of Dev Ops and Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience working across Development, Infrastructure and Operations teams.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills.
- Advantageous
- AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer - Professional.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience with in financial services or other enterprise technology environments.
