Incident Response Specialist

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and responsive Incident Response Specialist to join their dedicated security team in Upington . This role is critical for managing and mitigating the impact of security incidents, ensuring swift and effective resolution to protect the organization’s systems and data. You will be responsible for detecting, analyzing, and responding to security breaches, coordinating efforts with various internal and external stakeholders.

• Lead and manage the end-to-end incident response process for security breaches and cyber-attacks.
• Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents, including forensic analysis of compromised systems.
• Develop and execute containment, eradication, and recovery strategies for security incidents.
• Monitor security systems and alerts for potential threats and anomalies.
• Document all incident response activities, findings, and recommendations for post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with IT, legal, and communications teams during critical security events.

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in incident response, digital forensics, or a related cybersecurity field.
• Proficiency with incident response tools and techniques, including forensic analysis software.
• Strong understanding of network security, operating systems, and common attack vectors.
• Ability to analyze large volumes of data and logs to identify indicators of compromise.
