KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY- Provide coverage and support for Network operations and Information Technology Department as directed by supervisor.
- Provide technical support for the Business Unit.
- Monitor and maintain Business Unit services.
- Analyze log files and investigate and correct or record errors that are are discovered.
- Monitor Business Unit server and data backup processes.
- Configure network devices as directed.
- Work with systems for endpoint device management. Includes software distribution, updates, patching virus protection, imaging and maintenance routines.
- Assist with network account creation and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain scripts and programs that automate repetitive tasks and data transfer.
- Technical specifications and infrastructure requirements for self- produced technical work and job processes.
- Ensure that Service tickets are closed or escalated promptly.
- Ensure regularly scheduled technical tasks are accomplished on time.
- May be required to travel between various sites.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Support the department as a whole to achieve its mission and demonstrate its values.
- Participate in professional development and lifelong learning endeavors.
- Grade 12
- A Microsoft MCSE or equivalent qualification.
- At least 5 – 8 years as a generalist in an LAN/WAN environment.
- Minimum 5 years work experience supporting end users’ network in a Microsoft Server environment.
- Sound working knowledge of current Microsoft Windows Desktop, Server Operating systems and basic web technologies such as Microsoft IIS, and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services essential.
- Experience in Exchange, O365, Azure and Threat detection advantageous.
- A working knowledge of the following:
Internet protocols, VPN & Firewalls, encryption and certificates. Hyper-V, VMware or similar virtualization technology, SCVMM is preferable. - Network troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance, HP Aruba LAN and Wi-Fi essential.
- Device management software such as SCCM and SCOM preferable.
