Enterprise Architect

The Enterprise Architect provides strategic technology leadership, aligning business strategy with enterprise architecture across business, data, applications, integration, technology and security. The role establishes architecture practices, governs solution alignment and guides modernisation and transformation.

• Align architecture roadmaps and technology investments with business priorities.
• Define target-state architectures and identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and modernise the technology landscape.
• Advise senior leadership on technology direction, risk and investment decisions.

• Establish and improve architecture governance, standards and controls.
• Guide Architecture Review Boards and review solution architectures for enterprise alignment.
• Manage architecture exceptions, technical risks and compliance.

• Develop and maintain capability models, architecture blueprints, reference architectures, standards and roadmaps.
• Maintain current- and future-state views for assigned business domains and capabilities.

• Build effective relationships with business and technology leaders, architects, product owners and delivery teams.
• Lead architecture workshops, influence decisions and act as a trusted advisor.

• Assess emerging technologies and lead evaluations or proofs of concept where appropriate.
• Guide modernisation across cloud, integration, platforms, data and AI.

• Improve architecture practices, methods, tools, measures and adoption.
• Mentor architects and technical leads and promote architectural thinking across teams.

• Broad enterprise architecture knowledge, with depth in at least one or two domains.
• Architecture frameworks and governance, preferably TOGAF.
• Business architecture, capability modelling and transformation planning.
• Data governance, MDM, analytics and AI/ML architecture.
• Application portfolio management, rationalisation and modern software architecture.
• API‑first, event‑driven, service‑oriented and microservices integration.
• Cloud, infrastructure, Dev Ops, containers and platform engineering.
• Security architecture, identity, compliance, risk and controls.
• Architecture methods and tools, including UML, Archi Mate, Visio or Draw.io, EA repositories, Copilot/AI agents and Microsoft Office.

• 12+ years in Information Technology, including 10+ years across architecture, engineering, integration, data, infrastructure or cloud.
• 2+ years in an architecture role such as Solution, Domain, Lead or Enterprise Architect.
• Experience defining architecture strategies, target states and roadmaps.
• Experience with architecture governance, portfolio assessment and large‑scale transformation.
• Proven executive stakeholder engagement and influence.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification is preferred.
• Practical implementation experience is essential. Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, Azure or AWS architecture, CISSP or DAMA/CDMP are advantageous.
