Senior Network Security Specialist - Telecoms

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Security Specialist to protect their telecommunications infrastructure in Kimberley . This critical role involves safeguarding the network against evolving cyber threats, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data and services. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security solutions, responding to incidents, and staying ahead of potential vulnerabilities.

This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the security posture of a leading telecoms provider in the Northern Cape , working within a dedicated security operations team.

• Design, implement, and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM systems.
• Monitor network traffic for security breaches, anomalies, and malicious activities, conducting investigations as needed.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to protect the telecoms network .
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and remediate weaknesses.
• Respond to security incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery, and participate in post-incident analysis.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP) are a plus.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in network security , with a strong focus on telecommunications environments.
• Proven expertise in security technologies and protocols relevant to large-scale networks.
• Experience with security incident response, threat analysis, and digital forensics.
