Are you an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter with a sharp focus on accuracy, compliance, and superior client service? A well-regarded Financial Services firm is seeking a meticulous Personal Lines Portfolio Specialist to join their team. This role is the operational backbone for our Personal Lines insurance, managing the full policy lifecycle and ensuring both client satisfaction and profitability.
Responsibilities- Full Policy Lifecycle Management:
Underwrite and process new business, policy amendments, endorsements, cancellations, and renewals timeously. You must ensure all policy and client data is accurately captured on internal systems. - Technical Authority:
Interpret and apply technical underwriting guidelines and company standards as per various insurers. You will provide technical underwriting and rating advice on Personal Lines risks. - Compliance & Risk:
Ensure strict compliance with all industry regulations and legislative requirements. Your role includes applying sound risk assessment practices and pricing to support profitable underwriting. - Client & Broker Service:
Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, intermediaries, and brokers. You must ensure clear, accurate, and professional communication on all policy matters within service delivery time frames. - Operational Excellence:
Maintain high accuracy standards to reduce mistakes, improve cost-effectiveness, and contribute to policy retention through proactive renewal management.
- Minimum 3-5+ years’ experience in the short-term insurance industry, with a strong focus on Personal Lines underwriting within a brokerage.
- FAIS compliant (RE5) and a Minimum NQF4 Insurance related qualification are beneficial.
- Tial or Cardinal
360 knowledge is advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of personal lines products, policy wordings, and pricing structures is required.
- Strong attention to detail, administrative accuracy, and excellent communication and client service skills are essential.
