BIOVAC is one of the leading sterile vaccine manufacturers rooted in Africa, with our core purpose being to “protect life”. We are looking to hire a dynamic, passionate, confident, proactive and meticulous Supply Chain Specialist to join a goal-oriented team.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO SUCCEED- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in supply chain functions associated with vaccine and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Broad knowledge of basic supply chain principles and metrics.
- Ability to understand manufacturing processes, inputs and outputs.
- Experience in supply chain management tools such as SAP and ERP systems or planning tools.
- Experience with tech transfer/launch requirements for new products into market.
- Experienced in material planning and warehousing functions.
- Experience with end-to-end onboarding of new materials.
- Recognition is given to prior learning and practical experience.
- Good working knowledge of aseptic (sterile) manufacturing processes.
Planning & Coordination:
Develop and implement supply chain strategies across site (tech transfers and routine commercial operations). Collaborate with all managers to align supply chain activities with project/commercial timelines and milestones. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for potential supply chain disruptions. Maintain and support planning tools and frameworks.
Improve material and vendor onboarding processes. Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies/materials into manufacturing operations. Provide training and support for stakeholders on new materials and supply chain procedures.
Inventory Management & LogisticsOptimize inventory levels to ensure sufficient supply without excessive stockholding. Oversee warehousing and distribution strategies to meet operational and project requirements. Implement tracking systems for real-time inventory visibility and management.
Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with production, QC, and quality teams to ensure material specifications meet operational and project requirements. Provide regular updates to stakeholders (commercial, finance, production, QC) on supply chain progress and challenges. Support sustainability initiatives within warehouse and operational planning. Support S&OP forum with metrics and dashboards for reporting.
Technical Competencies Required- Strong knowledge of inventory management and end-to-end material onboarding processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and inventory management software.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
- Detailed knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and guidelines (GMP, quality, and good warehousing practices).
