Ground 2 Tap designs, installs and maintains engineered water systems. Behind every project is a large range of pumps, filters, valves, pipework, fittings, chemicals and electrical components that need to be available, accurately recorded and ready when the team needs them.

We are looking for a Stock Controller to take full ownership of our stock room and purchasing function.

This is a practical, hands‑on role. A large part of your day will be spent in the stock room receiving deliveries, checking stock, keeping shelves organised and making sure items are correctly booked in and out. The rest of your time will be spent placing orders, comparing supplier pricing, checking invoices and keeping our stock records accurate.

We have recently introduced our own stock management system, and this role will be responsible for making sure it becomes the single source of truth for our stock.

• Keeping the stock room organised, labelled and easy to navigate
• Managing the monthly stock count and investigating discrepancies
• Making sure stock is booked in and out as it moves
• Receiving deliveries and checking them against purchase orders
• Placing purchase orders and comparing suppliers on price, availability and lead time
• Checking supplier invoices against quoted and agreed pricing
• Keeping supplier pricing, lead times and stock item information up to date
• Making sure project stock is picked, complete and ready before teams leave for site
• Carrying out regular checks of stock held on company vehicles
• Identifying shortages, unusual usage or purchasing trends before they become problems

• At least 3 years' experience in stock control, stores, warehousing or a similar environment
• Experience working with physical parts or components rather than only packaged goods
• Experience purchasing from suppliers, comparing quotations and placing orders
• Matric Certificate or higher qualification
• A certificate or diploma in stock control, purchasing or supply chain would be useful, but is not essential
• Comfortable working with computers, Excel and phone‑based systems
• A valid driver's licence
• Previous exposure to plumbing, pumps, electrical, irrigation or similar technical parts would be an advantage

You do not need to know our products when you start, but you do need to be willing to learn them.

You are naturally organised and notice when things are out of place.

You are accurate, but you are also practical. If a count is wrong or a delivery does not match the paperwork, you investigate it and sort it out rather than letting it sit.

You are comfortable holding a line when someone is in a hurry, and you are confident dealing with suppliers when something is incorrect.

You notice patterns and ask questions. If we are repeatedly buying the same item unexpectedly, or stock usage does not make sense, you raise it.

Most importantly, you do not need to be chased. You take responsibility for your area and keep it under control.

As Ground 2 Tap grows, good stock control becomes increasingly important to how efficiently we deliver projects.

We have already invested in the systems and structure. What we now need is someone who will take ownership of the day‑to‑day discipline behind them and make sure the stock function runs properly.

It is a role with genuine responsibility and a direct impact on project delivery, purchasing costs and the efficiency of the wider operations team.
