Our client, a significant entity in the pharmaceutical supply chain , is seeking a strategic and experienced Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Manager to manage operations in Upington . This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution of pharmaceutical products, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. You will work to optimize the flow of goods from raw materials to finished products, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the integrity of sensitive pharmaceutical materials.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of supply chain principles within the regulated pharmaceutical industry .
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the end-to-end pharmaceutical supply chain, from sourcing to delivery.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing holding costs and waste.
- Oversee logistics and transportation, ensuring timely and secure delivery of pharmaceutical products, often under specific temperature controls.
- Negotiate with suppliers and logistics providers to secure favorable terms and ensure reliability.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmaceutical regulations , including those related to storage, transportation, and distribution.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in supply chain management, with a significant portion within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector .
- Proven experience in inventory management, procurement, and logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements impacting pharmaceutical supply chains (e.g., GDP - Good Distribution Practices).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
