Industrial Cleaning Team Lead

Our client, a leading provider of industrial cleaning services, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Industrial Cleaning Team Lead to join their esteemed team in Cape Town, Western Cape . This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in demanding industrial environments. You will be responsible for guiding a team of cleaning operatives, coordinating daily tasks, conducting safety briefings, and ensuring that all cleaning operations comply with strict industry regulations and client specifications.

• Lead, train, and supervise a team of industrial cleaning staff, ensuring efficient task delegation and performance.
• Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules tailored to specific industrial sites in Cape Town .
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the quality of work, adherence to safety protocols, and client satisfaction.
• Perform safety inductions and ongoing safety training for the cleaning team, emphasizing hazard identification and risk mitigation.
• Manage the inventory and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels and proper usage.
• Ensure all cleaning activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, addressing concerns and ensuring service delivery meets expectations.
• Maintain detailed records of team activities, equipment logs, and incident reports.
• Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork among the cleaning operatives.
• Assist with hands-on cleaning duties when required to ensure operational continuity and uphold standards.

• Proven experience in industrial cleaning, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
• Demonstrable knowledge of specialized industrial cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to manage and guide a team effectively.
• Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards within industrial settings.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in creating and implementing cleaning schedules and reports.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as per operational demands.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transport to various sites around Cape Town .
• First Aid and safety certifications are advantageous.
