Sampling Technician

Job Advert Summary

Deslee Mattex is looking for a Sampling Technician who will be responsible for developing and producing samples, with the role providing a valuable opportunity to gain technical exposure to circular knitting machines, build experience in fabric sampling, uphold quality standards, and contribute to the development of knit products.

• Matric or equivalent qualification.
• 2 years of experience in textile, with a focus on quality control or sample testing.
• Basic understanding of textile knitting processes and fabric characteristics.
• Familiarity with standard testing procedures for fabric quality (e.g., tensile strength, color fastness).
• Ability to use fabric testing tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify fabric defects and inconsistencies.
• Proficiency in data entry, record-keeping, and basic computer applications (e.g., Excel).
• Good communication skills for reporting and collaborating with team members.

• Production of all samples.
• Assisting with new developments of knit products.
• Operating and adjusting circular knitting machines.
• Following instructions and technical specifications to meet sample requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot sample fabric for holes, drops, needles etc.
• Performing general housekeeping and creating a good housekeeping culture as per 5s standards.
• Compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
