Junior Shift Coordinator

SUMMARY

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Junior Production Supervisor to join our Production team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about operational excellence, enjoys working in a fast‑paced FMCG environment. This role will support day‑to‑day production operations, ensure adherence to quality and safety standards and help drive continuous improvement across the department.

• Supervise production team to ensure daily targets, quality standards and output requirements are consistently achieved
• Coordinate and monitor production activities, ensuring optimal utilisation of equipment, raw materials, packaging and labour
• Ensure adherence to all food safety, quality and hygiene standards, including HACCP, GMP, CIP procedures and site‑specific safety protocols
• Implement and support Lean methodologies to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency
• Conduct process monitoring and equipment checks to ensure smooth, uninterrupted production flow
• Review and interpret production performance data, including OEE, waste levels, throughput and quality deviations
• Maintain accurate production documentation
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Schedule work activities and allocate resources to meet production plans and customer requirements
• Oversee key HR functions within the production team

• Grade 12
• National Diploma in Food Technology or Production Certificate
• Diploma / National Certificate in Food and Beverage Packaging Operation
• Team Leader / Supervisory training (essential)
• 3–5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
• Knowledge of engineering / mechanical, material requirement planning, plant capacity and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), product and process specific knowledge
• Knowledge of microbiology, food safety legislation and cleaning processes
• Familiar with quality systems, ISO standards and preventative maintenance
• Problem‑solving, decision‑making and planning abilities
• Lean manufacturing & productivity improvement techniques
