Job TitleJunior CNC Operator (5-Axis Woodworking)
The ideal candidate for this junior CNC operator role will be technically minded, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast‑paced furniture manufacturing environment. A qualification or background in Mechanical Engineering, CNC machining, woodworking, or a related technical field will be highly advantageous.
Experience or exposure to 5-axis CNC machinery, furniture manufacturing, shopfitting, cabinetry, or timber production would be beneficial, although training will be provided to candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
The role involves handling large timber components and operating industrial machinery, therefore candidates should be physically fit and comfortable performing manual handling tasks within a production environment.
Main purpose of this role is to support CNC operations within a woodworking environment by assisting in the setup, operation, and basic programming of a 5-axis CNC machine, while gaining hands‑on industry experience.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the operation of 5-axis CNC woodworking machinery
- Load materials and monitor machine processes
- Perform basic machine setup under supervision
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Ensure finished products meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Support senior operators and production team as required
- Recent Engineering Graduate (Mechanical, Industrial or similar)
OR - Basic CNC exposure (advantageous but not essential)
- Understanding of technical drawings
- Willingness to learn and develop CNC skills
- Exposure to 3-axis CNC machines
- Basic knowledge of CAD or drawing software
- Any CNC experience (woodwork or metal industry)
- Strong willingness to learn
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions
- Good problem‑solving skills
- Team player
- No experience required, but any CNC or technical exposure is beneficial
- Recent Engineering Graduate (advantageous)
