Persona Staff is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company for the position of Boilermaker based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The successful candidate will join the production team and play a key role in the fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and repair of metal components and industrial structures while ensuring high standards of workmanship and strict adherence to engineering specifications.

This position is ideal for technically skilled fabrication professionals with experience in industrial manufacturing and metalwork environments.

The Boilermaker will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, repairing, and maintaining metal structures, equipment, and components according to engineering drawings, technical specifications, and workplace safety standards. The role requires precision workmanship, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to operate fabrication tools and machinery efficiently.

• Fabricating and assembling metal structures and components according to engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting metal materials using specialized fabrication tools and machinery.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication plans.
• Ensuring precision and quality workmanship throughout manufacturing processes.

• Performing welding, grinding, cutting, and metal finishing activities where required.
• Using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery safely and effectively.
• Repairing damaged metal components and structures to restore operational functionality.

• Conducting maintenance and repair work on fabricated metal structures and equipment.
• Identifying wear, faults, and structural issues in components and recommending solutions.
• Supporting preventative maintenance activities to improve operational efficiency.

• Ensuring all fabricated products comply with:
• Engineering specifications
• Manufacturing quality standards
• Workplace safety regulations
• Inspecting finished work to verify dimensional accuracy and structural integrity.

• Following occupational health and safety procedures at all times.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
• Using personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to company safety protocols.

• Working closely with engineers, production supervisors, and maintenance teams.
• Supporting production deadlines and contributing to operational efficiency.

Applicants should possess:

• A Technical Certificate, Diploma, or Trade Qualification in Boilermaking, Welding, Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or Metalwork.

• Recognized Trade Test Certification or professional artisan qualification.
