About the Role
Our client, a prominent manufacturing firm in Cape Town , is seeking motivated individuals for their Junior Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship program. This is an exceptional pathway for enthusiastic learners to develop skills in assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and machinery. You will work closely with experienced mechanical fitters, gaining practical knowledge of tools, materials, and precision fitting techniques. The position is based at our state-of-the-art facility in the Cape Town area, offering exposure to various manufacturing processes.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of mechanical components and systems according to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production machinery and equipment.
- Use hand and power tools effectively and safely for fitting and fabrication tasks.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals to guide assembly and repair work.
- Identify and report any mechanical faults or potential hazards observed during work.
- Participate in scheduled training sessions, workshops, and theoretical coursework.
- Completed Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent, with a strong focus on technical subjects.
- Demonstrated interest in mechanics and a proactive attitude towards learning.
- Ability to understand technical instructions and work precisely.
- Physical fitness and the capacity to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
