Our client is seeking a strategic and results-driven Chemical Plant Manager to oversee operations at their facility in Cape Town . This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the plant. You will lead a dedicated team of professionals, manage production targets, and maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance. This hybrid position requires a leader who can balance on-site operational oversight with strategic planning and remote team collaboration, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and manage all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and safety.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve production goals, optimize resource allocation, and control costs.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop plant personnel, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Manage budgets, capital expenditure projects, and supply chain logistics effectively.
- Monitor plant performance metrics, analyze data, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in chemical plant operations management, with a strong track record of success.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical processes, safety regulations, and operational best practices.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with P&, process simulation, and plant automation systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, managing both on-site and remote aspects of the role.
