Requirements:

• Post Basic in Midwifery & Neonatal Nursing Science (essential)
• Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery (R425)
• SANC Registered
• Minimum 4-5 Years Experience in the Relevant Discipline

Key Performance Areas:

• Provide direct nursing care to mothers, newborns, and premature infants, ensuring safe and high-quality patient care.
• Monitor maternal and neonatal vital signs, growth, and development, and administer medications and prescribed treatments.
• Support labour, delivery, and postnatal care, including high-risk pregnancies and neonatal intensive care needs.
• Implement infection control measures and ensure compliance with SANC regulations and hospital policies.
• Collaborate with doctors, midwives, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care.
• Educate and support mothers and families on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting on patient conditions and outcomes.
• Participate in staff mentoring, training, and continuous professional development programs.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of clinical equipment, resources, and stock within the unit.
