Job Summary
Full‑time, overnight nursing position under the direction of the Department manager or Supervisor. This role assesses, plans, organizes and evaluates all aspects of patient care for the assigned unit/patients.

Hourly Rate$34.14–$54.00 (hourly rate does not include overtime or bonuses which are not guaranteed)
Essential Job FunctionsUtilizes the nursing process to provide quality patient care according to established standards of care and includes planning, implementing, evaluating and adjusting the plan of care, as well as discharge planning based on expected patient outcomes.
- Admits, transfers, and discharges patients.
- Completes ongoing patient assessment and documents according to policy.
- Completes nursing assessment as appropriate for the patient’s condition and within established time frames.
- Develops patient plan of care to include patient problems, goals, evaluations and interventions.
- Reports symptoms and significant changes in patient’s condition to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Assesses, collaborates and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the care team.
- Demonstrates appropriate application of age‑specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Collaborates and works cooperatively with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team in formal and informal teaching of patients and/or family about the disease process and wellness promotion plan and discharge planning.
- Demonstrates an awareness and relevance of research in nursing, evaluating practices to identify areas for improvement or opportunities for research.
- Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Certification, Licensure: Current state license as a registered nurse; current CPR certification; ACLS, PALS or TNCC certifications per policy.
Experience, Training, Knowledge: Previous experience as an RN in related care area preferred.
Physical RequirementsRequires lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds; stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; standing and walking more than five hours per day; visual acuity to correctly distinguish skin tone variations, evidence of IV infiltration, infection, and to read telemetry, blood pressure gauges, etc.; audio acuity to correctly distinguish various body sounds, including respiration, heart sounds, bowel sounds, and sounds made by machinery or equipment that would indicate dangerous or improper operation.
WorkingConditions/Environmental Exposures
Environmental hazards include chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or waste, and proximity to moving mechanical parts. Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary.

Vaccination and Immunization Requirements: Aligns with CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for Healthcare Personnel.
- Hepatitis B – Lab evidence of immunity (titer) or three doses Hep B vaccine at appropriate intervals.
- Influenza – Documentation of current seasonal flu vaccine (mandatory from November 1 through March 31 each year).
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella – Lab evidence of immunity or two doses of MMR vaccine.
- Varicella – Lab evidence of immunity or two doses of Varicella vaccine.
- Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) – Documented proof of immunization.
- Tuberculosis screening – Documentation of a two‑step TB skin test within the past year or lab verification of a negative TB Gold or T-Spot test within the past six months.
- Vaccine records or evidence of immunity required prior to first day of scheduled work.
