About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Occupational Healthcare Practitioner Nurse to run a busy occupational clinic to 800 employees
, focusing on the delivery of comprehensive healthcare services within occupational settings. This role is essential in promoting the health and wellbeing of employees, ensuring a safe and productive workplace environment.
- Conduct health assessments and screenings for employees to monitor and promote occupational health.
- Develop and implement health and safety programs tailored to the specific needs of the workplace.
- Provide first aid, emergency care, and referrals to healthcare services as necessary.
- Collaborate with management and HR teams to develop strategies for reducing workplace hazards and improving employee health outcomes.
- Educate employees on health promotion, disease prevention, and safe work practices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records and documentation in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Participate in incident investigations and provide recommendations to improve safety protocols.
- Stay informed of best practices and relevant legislation related to occupational health nursing.

- IOD’s and emergency situations as they arise
- Nursing Diploma/Degree
- Occupational Health Nurse qualification recognised by South African Medical Council (South African Nursing council)
- PHC qualification/experience
- Spirometry, Audiometry and Visual screening (certified qualification a must)
- HIV/AIDS certificate
- Knowledge of driver’s medical
- Registration with SANC/SASOHN
- Experience in the treatment of Injuries on Duty
- Dispensing license a must
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Valid Driver’s license and own reliable transport
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure without supervision
- Ability to organise and plan carefully
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Hard working and self-motivated
- Excellent standards in execution
