Formulation Scientist - Drug Development

Our client is seeking an innovative and skilled Formulation Scientist to join their drug development team in Upington . In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of novel pharmaceutical dosage forms, ensuring product efficacy, stability, and manufacturability. Your expertise will be critical in translating pre-clinical findings into viable drug products ready for clinical trials and commercialization.

• Design and execute formulation development studies for various dosage forms (e.g., oral solids, liquids, injectables).
• Investigate and select appropriate excipients and optimize formulations to achieve desired drug delivery profiles and product characteristics.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility testing.
• Develop and validate analytical methods for characterization and quality control of formulated products.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation for internal use and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with process development and manufacturing teams to ensure successful scale-up and technology transfer of formulated products.

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Proficiency in various dosage form technologies and drug delivery systems.
• Experience with analytical techniques used for pharmaceutical characterization (e.g., HPLC, DSC, XRD).
• Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory requirements, and product development lifecycle.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a meticulous approach to scientific research in Upington .
