About the RoleAs aQuality Assurance Representative, you will ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance and reliability throughout the manufacturing process. Working in a high-technology defence environment, you will conduct inspections, verify production readiness, manage non-conformances and support continuous improvement to ensure products consistently meet engineering, customer and regulatory requirements
Qualification and experience:- Grade 12 with Mathematics, Physical Science and technical subjects.
- N6 in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or a relevant Trade Qualification will be advantageous.
- ISO 9001 (or equivalent) Quality Management Systems training.
- Basic Statistical Process Control (SPC) or equivalent quality training.
- 1–3 years' experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment, preferably involving high-complexity products.
- Experience applying quality standards during system development and production, ideally within the defence, aerospace or similarly regulated industries.
- IPC-A-610 Certification.
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification.
- Quality control inspection techniques and methodologies.
- Mechanical, electronic and cable/harness assembly inspection.
- Interpretation of engineering drawings, manufacturing documentation and technical specifications.
- Root Cause Analysis methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.).
- Identification, reporting and management of non-conforming products.
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles, inspection procedures and quality standards.
- Operation of measurement and inspection equipment.
- Understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Technical reporting and quality documentation.
- Continuous Improvement methodologies and quality best practices.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Production Readiness and Industrialisation
Verify production readiness by reviewing production documentation, validating manufacturing and test processes, supporting First Article Inspections and conducting product verification activities to ensure products are ready for manufacture and comply with engineering and customer requirements.
Production Quality Control and ComplianceMonitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process by performing inspections, reviewing production activities, verifying functional compliance, managing non-conformances and maintaining traceability to ensure products consistently meet quality and engineering specifications.
Non-conformance Management and Continuous ImprovementInvestigate quality issues, analyse production trends, evaluate corrective actions and recommend process improvements to reduce defects, improve manufacturing performance and strengthen product quality.
Stakeholder and Customer Quality SupportProvide quality assurance support to production, engineering, suppliers and customers by participating in quality reviews, supporting supplier quality activities, communicating quality-related matters and conducting final product acceptance inspections.
Capability Development and Knowledge SharingPromote a culture of quality by supporting training initiatives, sharing quality best practices, improving quality awareness and contributing to the ongoing development of production and quality capability.
