QUALITY CONTROL OFFICER FOOD MANUFACTURING

-25 000

CTC per month, depending on experience

We are looking for a Quality Control Officer to join our fish processing factory in St Helena Bay.

This is a hands-on factory-floor position, with the main focus on quality inspections, product compliance, hygiene monitoring and accurate quality documentation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Factory Supervisor and Quality Assurance Manager to maintain high food safety and quality standards.

• Conduct in-process and finished-product quality inspections .
• Perform GMP, hygiene and housekeeping inspections .
• Monitor compliance with food safety, quality and production procedures.
• Identify, record and follow up on quality issues and non-conformances .
• Complete and maintain food safety and quality records.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) .
• Support internal, customer and regulatory audits.
• Report quality and food safety issues to management.

• 3+ years' experience in food manufacturing , preferably fish or seafood processing.
• Practical knowledge of GMP and HACCP .
• Experience in quality inspections and food safety documentation.
• Good Microsoft Word, Excel and Email skills.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Ability to work independently and hands-on on the factory floor .

We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable, organised and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to food safety and product quality. Experience in a fish processing environment will be an advantage. You will live in St Helena Bay, West Coast or within 25km. If you live out of St Helena Bay, West Coast you will need your own car and you will need to factor in the cost of fuel.
