Marketplace Manager (Real Estate)
Location: Cape Town (Hybrid)
Type: Permanent, full time position.
Base Salary: R22,000 – R24,000 per month
Bonus: Uncapped performance-based commission
Our client, a fast-growing international Prop Tech company, is looking to recruit a Marketplace Manager to play a key role in driving successful transactions across its residential real estate platform.
This role sits at the heart of the marketplace, responsible for managing key agent accounts, nurturing seller relationships, and optimising offer closure rates. The successful candidate will combine strong real estate sales expertise with excellent relationship management and negotiation skills to ensure high-quality outcomes for both sellers and buyers.
You will operate in a high-growth, startup-style environment, working closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to improve performance, customer satisfaction, and overall marketplace efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Client & Account Management- Build and maintain strong relationships with key agent accounts and sellers
- Act as the primary point of contact for client needs, queries, and ongoing support
- Deliver a high level of customer service to drive satisfaction and retention
- Strategically manage the offer process to improve closure rates on accepted offers
- Engage with sellers and buyers to address concerns and overcome objections
- Use strong negotiation skills to optimise outcomes for all parties involved
- Manage a pipeline of key accounts and active deals
- Prioritise tasks effectively to maximise efficiency and results
- Track KPIs related to offer closures, customer satisfaction, and revenue
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes
- Provide feedback and insights to internal teams to improve product and service offering
- Work closely with internal sales, marketing, and product teams
- Share customer feedback to inform product development and operational improvements
- Relevant qualification or degree in Real Estate or related field
- 2–5 years’ experience in real estate sales or property-related roles
- Proven track record in negotiating and closing property deals
- Strong understanding of residential real estate market dynamics
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Proactive, results-driven, and comfortable working independently
- Strong organisational and pipeline management skills
- Proficient in CRM systems and digital tools
- Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment
