The Retail Store Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring that the daily operations of the store run efficiently. One of the key responsibilities of the Retail Store Assistant is providing exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will also ensure that customer complaints and compliments are communicated to management, helping the store continuously improve its service standards.

The Retail Store Assistant will manage point-of-sale shortages and overages, oversee cash floats, process refunds and returns according to company procedures, and prepare daily cash reconciliations. Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring proper document control for petty cash, cash on hand, and other financial transactions are essential aspects of the position.

Inventory management forms another important component of the role. The successful candidate will verify deliveries and invoices to ensure complete accuracy, assist the Receiving Manager with Distribution Centre claims, and help manage high-risk stock to minimize losses. Proper handling of returned goods and back shopping is also necessary to maintain inventory accuracy and support efficient store operations.

To qualify for this position, applicants must possess a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate and have previous retail experience. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP, is required to perform administrative duties effectively. These technical skills enable employees to process transactions, maintain records, and support store management with operational tasks.
