Merchandiser - FMCG

Our client, a prominent Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company, is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Merchandiser to enhance product visibility and sales within retail stores in Upington, Northern Cape . This field-based role is crucial for ensuring our client's products are displayed attractively, stocked appropriately, and promoted effectively at the point of purchase. You will work closely with store management and sales teams to implement merchandising plans, maintain brand standards, and contribute directly to sales performance and market presence in your assigned territory.

• Implement planograms and merchandising standards to ensure optimal product placement and visibility in retail outlets.
• Monitor stock levels, identify potential out-of-stock situations, and liaise with store staff to ensure timely replenishment.
• Execute promotional activities and ensure accurate point-of-sale (POS) material display.
• Build strong relationships with store managers and staff to facilitate effective merchandising and secure prominent product placement.
• Conduct regular store visits, reporting on shelf conditions, competitor activities, and sales opportunities.
• Ensure product freshness and rotation on shelves according to company guidelines.

• Previous experience in merchandising or a similar role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Good understanding of retail store operations and display principles.
• Ability to interpret and implement planograms and sales directives accurately.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with store personnel.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation for travel within the Upington region.
• Physical ability to lift and move products, and spend significant time on the store floor.
