Real pipeline, real clients, real fast — from day one.
More Shores is a Cape Town-born compliance & logistics startup on a mission to make moving product as painless as clicking a button — whether that’s a local merchant juggling five couriers or a brand trying to crack the South African e-commerce market. No stitching together customs brokers, freight forwarders, 3PLs and marketplace agencies — we roll all of it into one team and one dashboard, running compliance, freight, fulfilment and channel distribution, local and cross-border.
We’re still a small, founder-led crew (under 10 people), but we’re already moving 1,500+ orders a month, shipping over $2M USD of stock annually, and reaching 200+ countries — with a 100% client retention rate to prove it works. Join now as our Business Development Manager and you’re not a generic sales hire pitching a black box — you’re a tech-minded operator who actually understands the platform, talking to clients about system integrations, dashboards and automation as fluently as pricing and pipeline, and shaping something genuinely global from a small office in Cape Town.
You’ll Own
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, especially with tech-forward merchants and brands, to drive growth.
- Analyze market data & trends to shape effective, targeted marketing campaigns.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of sales opportunities, from first contact to close.
- Engage with customers to understand their operation and pitch the right More Shores solution — including how our platform and integrations solve their problem.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Provide after-sales support to ensure clients get long-term value from the platform.
- Be the bridge between clients and our Tech team — translating customer needs into product and integration requirements.
- Build and present proposals to prospective clients, dashboard demos included.
- Stay ahead of industry developments and emerging logistics tech.
- Attitude first, always — we can teach the rest
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related tech field — a business/logistics/supply chain degree with genuine tech chops also works
- Prior sales experience, ideally in courier, freight, or SaaS/tech, is a big plus (but not a deal breaker for the right candidate)
- Genuinely into digitalization and technology — you’d rather demo a dashboard than read from a script.
- Comfortable talking tech with clients — you can explain an API integration or a dashboard workflow, not just a price list
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- If you’re into logistics, digitalization, and building something from the ground up — this is your way in.
