This is a consultative, target-driven role for a seasoned safari seller who designs tailor-made luxury itineraries and guides guests from first enquiry to confirmed booking. Deep East Africa product knowledge and a proven sales record are what count here.
Core Criteria- Minimum 5 years experience selling East African safaris
- Minimum 10 years experience in an African inbound retail sales environment
- Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Strong consultative selling and itinerary design skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Experience working with CRM systems (Hub Spot advantageous)
- Genuine passion for African travel, with a proactive, guest-focused approach
- Design personalised luxury safari itineraries to suit each guests interests, travel style and budget
- Manage the full sales process from first enquiry through to booking confirmation
- Build lasting guest relationships through expert advice and proactive communication
- Achieve individual revenue, conversion and booking targets while maintaining strong average booking values
- Keep quotations, booking details and CRM records accurate across all reservation systems
- Complete confirmations and booking documentation promptly for smooth operational handovers
- Maintain expert knowledge of the camps, East African destinations and industry trends
- Work closely with Sales Operations, Guest Services and other internal teams
- Share ideas, support colleagues and adopt new processes and technology
- Represent the company professionally in every guest and colleague interaction
- This is an office-based position for candidates based in Cape Town (Northern Suburbs) OR remote for candidates elsewhere in South Africa
- Candidates will be required to travel to the different destination properties on occassion
- Work hours:
Monday to Friday, 08h00 to 17h00 (including a one-hour lunch break), with some flexibility - Occasional after-hours and weekend standby on a team rotation and alternate public holidays worked, with time off in lieu
- Overtime during peak periods, compensated with time off in lieu
- Medical Aid and Retirement Annuity contributions
