Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyse external intelligence relating to emerging security risks, organised crime and industry trends that may impact operations.
- Monitor and assess regional risk hotspots, including cargo theft, hijackings, warehouse incidents and other security threats.
- Analyse internal incident reports, audit findings and operational data to identify trends, vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
- Develop risk heat maps, intelligence reports and predictive insights to support proactive decision-making.
- Monitor external factors, including political unrest, labour disruptions, regulatory changes and other risks that could affect business operations.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant law enforcement agencies, industry bodies and external stakeholders to support intelligence sharing and collaboration.
- Lead investigations into security incidents, fraud, theft and operational irregularities using intelligence-led methodologies.
- Manage investigation processes, including evidence gathering, interviews, documentation and case management.
- Oversee surveillance activities, including the analysis of CCTV footage, vehicle tracking systems and other security technologies.
- Coordinate integrity testing and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and strengthen security controls.
- Translate intelligence findings into practical risk mitigation strategies and operational improvements.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for transport routes, facilities, cargo and new operational initiatives.
- Oversee the implementation, optimisation and effective utilisation of intelligence and risk management systems.
- Interpret and analyse operational and logistics data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Utilise transport management systems, tracking platforms and data analytics tools to support intelligence gathering and informed decision-making.
- Integrate multiple data sources to produce meaningful, actionable intelligence that supports proactive risk management and business continuity.
- NQF Level 6 qualification (National Diploma) in Policing, Security Studies, Management, or a related field is highly advantageous.
- PSIRA Grade A certification is non-negotiable.
- Proven experience within the private security, logistics, or risk management sectors.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Previous experience within a retail distribution centre is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Site Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong experience leading investigations within a logistics environment.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Power BI, or a similar data analytics tool.
- Proficient in logistics systems, tracking platforms and telematics.
- Proficient in CCTV analytics and surveillance technologies.
- Experience using social media monitoring and/or open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools.
- Strong understanding of supply chain risks and risk mitigation strategies.
- Sound knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Act, Law of Evidence and Labour Law.
