Aviation Security Officer - Ramp Operations

Our client is seeking a vigilant and professional Aviation Security Officer to manage ramp operations security at the Cape Town International Airport. You will play a vital role in safeguarding aircraft, passengers, and personnel by enforcing stringent security protocols and responding effectively to security threats. • Conduct regular patrols of aircraft stands, terminal areas, and other airport operational zones to deter and detect security breaches.
• Monitor access control points, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter restricted areas.
• Perform security checks on baggage, cargo, and aircraft as per established procedures.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security alerts, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Collaborate with airport authorities, airlines, and law enforcement agencies to maintain security coordination.
• Maintain accurate incident logs and prepare detailed security reports.

• Previous experience in a security role, preferably within the aviation or high-security environment.
• A valid Grade A security certificate and relevant PSIRA registration.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an aviation security clearance.
