Social Auxiliary Worker – Mfuleni​/Crossroads​/Nyanga​/Weltevreden area

Yabonga is a Cape Town-based non-governmental organisation supporting people living with HIV in South Africa, Yabonga operates in twelve township communities around the city. Drawing on family, community and state structures, Yabonga offers a comprehensive model of care for vulnerable children and youth. In providing holistic support, we stimulate healthy emotional, social and academic development, and build capacity to lead productive lives.

Yabonga seeks to appoint a Social Auxiliary Worker, to be based and work in the Mfuleni /Nyanga / Crossroads / Weltevreden areas in Cape Town.

Requirements:

• Have a passion in community and child development
• Able to counsel children / adults within the Yabonga programme
• Be able to do home / child and family assessments of Yabonga beneficiaries
• Able to identify challenges and resolve conflict
• Excellent administrative, communication and networking skills
• Confidence to manage a small team
• Speak and write detailed reports in Isi Xhosa and English language
• Collect OVC reports, read and summarise for the Programme Manager
• Social Auxiliary Worker Qualification and experience in the field of work
• Able to work and drive within the township areas
• A driver’s license is required
• Ideally live within the communities in which you will be working
