Social Worker - Child and Youth Services

Our client is looking for a dedicated Social Worker specializing in Child and Youth Services to join their team in Cape Town . This role involves a blend of remote client engagement and necessary in-person visits to provide critical support and intervention for children and young people facing challenging circumstances. You will play a vital role in safeguarding, empowering, and advocating for vulnerable youth, working collaboratively with families, schools, and other agencies to ensure their well-being and development.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and youth to identify risks and needs.
• Develop and implement evidence-based intervention and support plans.
• Provide case management, counseling, and advocacy services, both remotely and in person.
• Liaise with families, foster parents, schools, and other stakeholders to coordinate care.
• Prepare detailed reports for court proceedings, child protection services, and other formal bodies.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide crisis intervention as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in child protection or youth services.
• Proficiency in case management software and virtual communication tools.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and child welfare policies in South Africa .
