Reports directly to the Data Integration Team Leader and works closely with members of Infrastructure, Security & Networking, Service Delivery, Site Management, and Unified Communication teams, as well as users worldwide and external suppliers. The workplace is in South Africa.

The role involves the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines into the Lakehouse/warehouse framework from various structured and unstructured sources (ETL). Responsibilities include transforming, cataloguing, securing, and ensuring availability of varied data types, as well as designing and developing automated processes and solutions to integrate data with other applications and processes.

• Assist in transitioning to and maturing the Lakehouse framework and associated technologies.
• Design and build ETL/ELT processes within the framework, sourcing from databases, APIs and other unstructured sources into the Lakehouse.
• Transform data to ensure quality, consistency, security, and availability.
• Develop, support, and document integration solutions between the data Lakehouse and downstream applications and third parties (including migrations and re-engineering).
• Support and maintain existing data/business processes and applications in both the existing SQL data warehouse and the Lakehouse environment.
• Assist with data mastering and data store solutions within MDS, exploring refinement and reengineering within the Lakehouse framework.

• Strong SQL query and optimization skills.
• Experience with Python and Mage.ai for scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with dbt and Where Scape Red for data transformation and modeling (a plus).
• Experience with SCORCH and Alteryx (a plus).
• Knowledge of Dremio and Data Bricks (a plus).
• Knowledge of MDS (Master Data Management) and APIs (a plus).
