As a Full-Stack Engineer at Bookboost, you will take an active role in shaping the architecture and infrastructure of our platform, helping hospitality businesses deliver exceptional guest experiences through seamless technology. You will work across the stack to design and build high-performance, scalable, and secure systems that power the next generation of hospitality tech. Your expertise in backend and frontend development, infrastructure automation, and event-driven architectures will directly influence our technical direction and long-term scalability.

AWS | Node.js | Type Script | PHP | Angular | Cloudflare | Terraform

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend services and infrastructure with a focus on performance, security, and reliability.
• Architect and maintain event-driven systems and real-time data processing pipelines.
• Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform to manage cloud resources effectively.
• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and improve developer productivity.
• Shape our technology roadmap by contributing to architectural discussions and key technical decisions.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.

• 5+ years of relevant experience in full-stack development, working with modern backend and frontend technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, Type Script, and Postgre
  
  SQL (experience with PHP is a plus, but not a hard requirement).
• Expertise in designing and scaling distributed systems in AWS and Cloudflare, with experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, and queuing systems (SQS, Kafka, etc.).
• Natural bias towards AI-first product development, across both the developer experience and the features we ship in the product.
• Bonus:
  
  Experience with Cloudflare Workers, Angular, or security best practices (SOC2, ISO
  27001).
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mentality, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

At Bookboost, our product and engineering team work an adaptation of the Shape Up methodology. We work in this way to ensure we are working on the most valuable unit of work at all times, removing risk upfront and empowering our engineers to make technical decisions in collaboration with product and design. In addition, we work in 6-week cycles, long enough to build something meaningful start-to-finish and short enough that everyone can feel the deadline looming from the start, so they use the time wisely.

Following every 6-week cycle, we have 1-week Cooldown Weeks - a week of no product-prioritised work where engineers have the freedom to tackle that tech debt that has been bothering them for weeks or experiment with new tooling or feature improvements. We have multiple features in our product today which were born during a Cooldown Week!
