Software Development Engineer

Role Overview

Join our team of innovative Software Engineers and build the next generation service platforms for AWS, EC2, and our customers. You will own and contribute to the development of quality designs and solutions, solving complex problems across the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) ecosystem.

• Develop and maintain scalable, high‑performance services written in Java, Kotlin, Typescript, Python, Ruby, Go, or C++.
• Write and support clean, maintainable code with a focus on pragmatic solutions.
• Design and architect new and existing systems, applying best practices for reliability and scalability.
• Operate with limited guidance, taking a long‑term view of your team’s services and their place in the broader architecture.
• Collaborate with engineers and teams outside your own to shape EC2 architecture that supports Amazon‑scale business needs.
• Participate in on‑call duties as part of a rotation and adhere to a Dev Ops model.

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#.
• Experience designing or architecting systems with design patterns, reliability, and scaling.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
