SAP ABAP Developer

Job Title

SAP ABAP Developer — Office-based in Cape Town. Initial 6-month subcontractor contract with possible renewal. Subcontractor budget: R550/hr.

We are seeking a hands-on SAP ABAP Developer with strong finance domain experience to support development, integration and enhancement activities within our SAP landscape for a major banking client. The role is office-based in Cape Town for an initial six-month term, with a strong emphasis on finance-related development, integrations and collaboration with business and middleware teams.

• Design, develop and maintain ABAP programs including reports, module pools and screen programming.
• Implement enhancements, user exits, BAdIs and BAPIs to meet business requirements.
• Develop and maintain forms using Smart Forms, SAPscript and Adobe Forms.
• Build and support SAP interfaces (IDocs, EDI, APIs) and collaborate with middleware teams for integrations.
• Perform performance tuning, code optimization and debugging of ABAP objects.
• Collaborate with finance SMEs to understand financial transactions and business workflows.
• Provide integration support, testing and deployment activities.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven SAP ABAP development experience within Finance or the Banking/Financial Services sector.
• Strong understanding of SAP FI processes and financial transaction flows.
• Experience with SAP interfaces and integration technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and team collaboration skills.
