Senior Full-Stack Developer

Java / Spring Boot | React / Type Script | Contract | Cape Town

Are you a senior full-stack developer who enjoys solving real problems, working across the technology stack and taking ownership of what you build?

Our Client is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join its technology team with an immediate start.

This is an opportunity to work on meaningful digital products alongside an experienced and collaborative technology team.

You’ll work across both new product development and existing platforms, designing, building and maintaining backend services and user-facing applications.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Building and maintaining REST APIs and microservices
• Developing user-facing applications using React and Type Script
• Working on integrations and distributed systems
• Designing and working with relational databases
• Contributing to containerised and cloud-native applications
• Writing automated tests and supporting CI/CD practices
• Troubleshooting and solving practical technical problems
• Working collaboratively within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Taking ownership of the quality, reliability and delivery of the solutions you build

• Nx
• Kong and Kuma
• RabbitMQ and Redis
• Oracle and MySQL
• Kubernetes / RKE2
• Helm, Terraform and Vault
• Docker and Git Hub Actions
• Prometheus, Grafana, Open Search and Sentry
• Git Hub Copilot and Claude Code

You don't need to be an expert in every technology listed, but you should be comfortable working across the full stack and learning where required.

You’ll ideally have:

• 5+ years’ experience in software development
• Strong Java and Spring Boot experience
• Solid full-stack development experience with React and Type Script
• Experience building REST APIs and microservices
• Strong SQL and database design skills
• Experience with containerised or cloud-native applications
• Experience with Git, automated testing and CI/CD
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• A practical, problem-solving mindset
• A strong sense of ownership and pride in delivering quality software
