Position: PART-TIME HOCKEY COACHES

Job Advert Summary

St Cyprian’s School is looking for energetic, committed and values-aligned Part-Time Hockey Coaches to join our High School and Preparatory School sports programme.

This role is ideal for someone who loves the game, understands the rhythm of school sport, and knows that coaching young people is as much about character as it is about competition. You’ll be shaping confident players, strong teams, and calm minds under pressure — on and off the field.

Minimum Requirements What we’re looking for
  • Proven knowledge of hockey and the ability to coach at an appropriate high-school level
  • Minimum two seasons’ experience coaching school or youth teams
  • Experience with match officiating / umpiring
  • An educational, patient coaching style that builds confidence and motivation
  • Reliability, organisation and strong communication skills
  • A genuine love for working with young people and being a positive role model
The practicalities
  • Part-time, seasonal role
  • Paid per session
  • Training typically takes place during the week, with matches on match days
  • Start date:

    As soon as possible

Duties and Responsibilities What the role involves
  • Coaching hockey teams during the season (training sessions and matches each week)
  • Preparing and delivering well-structured, purposeful training sessions
  • Officiating / umpiring matches as required
  • Working collaboratively with the Head of Sport and fellow coaches on team selection and player development
  • Supporting tours, festivals and tournaments during the season
  • Modelling professionalism, respect and sportsmanship at all times
