Logistics Coordinator – Long-Haul Road Freight

Our client, a growing logistics firm, is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator with a background in long-haul road freight, specialising in either bulk or tautliner transport. If you thrive on coordinating loads, building strong relationships, and keeping things moving on the road, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate long-haul road freight movements for allocated customers, managing either bulk/loose or tautliner loads.

• Plan and schedule routes, allocate trucks efficiently, and ensure on-time, in-full deliveries nationwide.

• Source and manage subcontractors when fleet capacity is exceeded, confirming rates, compliance, and availability.

• Track loads from dispatch to POD, proactively resolving issues and communicating clear ETAs to customers.

• Ensure complete and accurate transport documentation, including loading instructions, weighbridge slips, and PODs.

• Collaborate closely with operations, sales, and customer teams to maintain smooth, cost-effective logistics operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in long-haul road freight coordination within either bulk or tautliner operations.

• Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.

• Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work calmly under pressure.

• Sound understanding of transport compliance, route planning, and cost control.

• Experience with TMS platforms and solid Excel proficiency.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistics coordination, dispatch, or transport planning.

• Relevant logistics or supply chain qualification advantageous.

• Valid driver’s licence.
