• Provide front line contact with customer and maintain high levels of customer service.
• Manage the clients requirements outlined on client SOP.
• Attend to client queries and complaints as required.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships with existing customers.
• Participate in joint sales visits if necessary.
• Identify and report new possible business opportunities.
• Liaise with overseas stations and suppliers in order to arrange shipments.
• Perform booking and booking optimization according to internal guidelines as defined by Product.
• Monitor, coordinate and follow up on shipments on a daily basis until delivery.
• Keep record of the status of shipments, with written status reports to customers when required.
• Prepare, control and distribute all required import documents to counterparts (customs department, carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.) complying with regulations and internal procedures.
• Ensure the accurate tariffs application on all shipments billings.
• Take full responsibility at file level for GP/Job Profitability and raise any issues or incidents that would impact the profitability of the account.
• Perform IT systems related tasks to provide up to date information on shipment.
• File processing in accordance with all operational CW1 SOP’s/ DGF Work Manuals.
• Make sure all operational KPI’s are met and maintained with specific focus on station metrics.
• Capture and monitor system time stamps required for client status reports and KPI’s.
• Provide monthly KPI reporting if required.
• Assist Ocean freight Import Manager to meet department targets.
• Maintain good relationships with colleagues in various operations.
• Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers.
• Raise CCM’s and OI’s where required.
• Constantly demonstrate and live the values of DHL.
• Have high focus on process improvement and best practice implementation.
• Coordinate, liaise, work with carrier contact on operational activities, issue resolution, process execution and performance improvements according to corporate policy.
• Attend and apply DGF mandatory training as communicated from time to time.

• Extensive knowledge of Ocean Freight Logistics and Operations.
• Minimum 3 – 5 years logistics experience.
• Experience with CW1.
• Global Logistics and geographical knowledge.
• Incoterms.
• Email etiquette.
• Able to work timely with high accuracy.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Customer focused.
• Ability to identify and meet customer needs in a timely, pleasant and friendly manner.
