We are currently seeking a highly motivated and organized Logistics Assistant to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa.
This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the coordination of shipments, both domestic and international, ensuring all necessary documentation and permits are in place
- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues that may arise
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments and related documentation
- Assist in the preparation of logistics reports and provide regular updates to the team and management
- Support the logistics team in identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and timely operations
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the logistics manager
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures is preferred
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
