We are looking for an experienced container driver with extensive heavy‑day truck driving experience in the container industry and a good understanding of port operations and procedures. You are responsible, safety‑conscious and reliable, and you take pride in looking after your vehicle, trailer and cargo. You are comfortable working in busy port and depot environments, following the required processes and completing documentation accurately.

You communicate professionally with clients, officials and the operations team, and can be trusted to represent Van der Vyver Transport professionally wherever the job takes you.

• Collect and deliver containers to and from container depots, ports and client premises.
• Ensure loads are delivered within the required schedules, and that refrigerated container cargo is maintained at the correct temperature.
• Ensure that all container documentation, trip sheets and other required paperwork are completed and submitted correctly.
• Follow port and depot procedures, including booking, staging and collection processes.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects.
• Always ensure safe and responsible driving, and take proper care of the vehicle, trailer and cargo.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, depot staff and port officials.
• Comply with company policies, road traffic regulations, and health and safety standards

• Valid Code 14 Driver's License with a valid PDP

• Minimum 5 years' experience driving container vehicles.
• Proven experience collecting containers from depots and working in port environments.
• Knowledge of port procedures and container documentation

• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and overtime.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Must be reliable, punctual and safety conscious.
